Quality of Life

Quality of life has different meanings to different people... The quality of your life is in direct proportion to the amount of uncertainty you can comfortably deal with."Tony Robbins"
The best way of approaching quality of life measurement is to measure the extent to which people's 'happiness requirements' are met - ie those requirements which are a necessary (although not sufficient) condition of anyone's happiness - those 'without which no member of the human race can be happy.' - McCall, S.: 1975, 'Quality of Life', Social Indicators Research 2, pp 229-248
WHAT IS QOL? QOL may be defined as subjective well-being. Recognising the subjectivity of QOL is a key to understanding this construct. QOL reflects the difference, the gap, between the hopes and expectations of a person and their present experience. Human adaptation is such that life expectations are usually adjusted so as to lie within the realm of what the individual perceives to be possible. This enables people who have difficult life circumstances to maintain a reasonable QOL. - Janssen Quality-of-life Studies
Quality of Life is tied to perception of 'meaning'. The quest for meaning is central to the human condition, and we are brought in touch with a sense of meaning when we reflect on that which we have created, loved, believed in or left as a legacy. - Frankl VE. 'Man's search for meaning.' New York: Pocket Books, 1963.
In quality of life research one often distinguishes between the subjective and objective quality of life. Subjective quality of life is about feeling good and being satisfied with things in general. Objective quality of life is about fulfilling the societal and cultural demands for material wealth, social status and physical well-being. - Quality-of-Life Research Center, Denmark

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX The truth is that even in the information age, information is not enough. if all we needed were ideas and positive thinking, then we all would have had ponies when we were kids and we would all be living our "dream life" now. Action is what unites every great success. Action is what produces results. Knowledge is only potential power until it comes into the hands of someone who knows how to get himself to take effective action. In fact, the literal definition of the word "power" is "the ability to act."
Tony Robbins(1960 )
"Life has no meaning except for the meaning you give it"

My Story

Hi, I’m Julie Elder, and I started my website julieelder.com to share with others about what I like and what I want to learn from others. And to be more candid about it, it’s what everyone is doing in today's Social Media online. I’m suppose to be a little funny, and at times show some serious sides of my self, so you can get to know me. Do you think it’s important to tell you that I am a mother.. When ever I come across a questionnaire, and it wants to to know something about me, I always, always want to begin it with “I am a mother of four daughter’s”.. Like it should award me with a Nobel prize or something.. But the truth really is, it wasn’t all that easy raising them four daughter’s Love em to death but it was a challenge. And all I can say is that I'm so glad that I made it through that part of my journey... Just for fun, here are a few of the things I'd rather try to forget about....

 * Hair * Trends * Clothes ~ popular clothes name brand.. Guess was a big one, oh and Gap * Boys * Friends * Heartaches * Girl issues * Money * Dates ~~~ this list could go on and on.. And just to think, I was trying to hold down a full time job!! What was I thinking.... Now that I have made it half way into my life, My daughter's are grown, with families of their own, and some have decided to take my experience, and bag the whole family thing... Just living in there own world... Can't blame them there.. So I decided about 4 years ago, that I wanted to find out what I liked, what I wanted to do, what else could I possibly learn from the book of life.. Well I jumped in head first into my first network marketing company.. Thinking that I would enjoy learning how the online social media really works, and make some fast residual income, I was going to strike gold, one way or another. I was never going to work and support another company for someone else ever again.. And then came along the joy I was experiencing learning how to use Photoshop.. Now this was fun.. And so then my desire to learn how to build a website.. Yes I said a website. I was starting to feel pretty powerful, and it didn't help to have my father encourage me every day, how proud he was of me, and man you really made that. well I became a child again, just never could get enough of that praise from him.. It became an addiction.. And I was learning. I really was quit proud of myself.. Tired of hearing people complain every day to me on the phone for over 20 years of my life.. Well this was like a breath of fresh air for me.. Lovin every min of it.. So here I am in today's world.. I love to network and market and design. It has become something that I love to do..I have meet some incredible people over this past year, and I have learned so much, from so many of you. I am looking forward to this new year with great anticipation of creating some thing superior in my life. This next year 2010 I am eagerly looking forward to meeting a lot of my new friends, and just sit awhile with you, and enjoy the moment... My wish to everyone a very prosperous new year in 2010.. Best Regards Julie
